In recent years, the department has experienced growth in expenditures due to increased assistance to local law enforcement agencies and increased personnel costs. As a result, annual expenditures exceeded revenues into the Alcohol Beverages Control Fund. Revenues generated from the fee proposal are estimated to support department activities in the budget and out-years.
